What is Polyjet?

PolyJet is a 3D Printing technology/Additive manufacturing process which uses an UltraViolet-cured liquid resin. PolyJet 3D printers use print head which is similar to that of an inkjet. This print head distributes the resin onto the print bed, which is then cured and solidified by a UV light.

PolyJet printers use a gel like soluble support material which can be washed away. This allows assemblies of parts and complicated geometries to be easily printed together. Parts printed via polyjet, do not require multiple alcohol baths/post curing or washing as the come off the build platform fully-cured without any liquid resin residue, eliminating the need for multiple alcohol baths to wash the parts, or post-curing.

Available Materials

Standard Resin :

Produces extreme detail, rigid, injection mold-like parts with a smooth surface.

Transparent Resin :

Has a translucent appearance. Ideal for injection molding-like prototypes.

Heat Resistant Resin :

Has high strength and heat deflection temperature and can be used to produce high detail, low-run injection molds.

Rubber-like Resin :

Produces high-detail parts with a soft rubber-like appearance and shore hardness < 70A. Not suitable for functional prototypes.

Castable Resin :

High detail resins for investment casting pattern making. No residue after burn out. Greater detail than Castable Resin (SLA).

Working with VNV Printlab, we 3D Printed a 1:70 Scale Model of Delhi’s Metro Station for UBER.

Presented to the government and the press by UBER CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, the model sought to build awareness about the project.

Coupled with overlay motion graphics using Augmented Reality, the model became alive and interactive for the audience
