What’s DLP?
Digital Light Processing (DLP) is a 3D Printing technology/Additive Manufacturing process which is similar to SLA. Under this process, a tray of photopolymer resin is exposed to light from a light projector.
The Projector displays the image of each layer of the 3D Model onto the liquid polymer which causes the exposed area of the resin to harden and take shape of the particular layer. The build plate then shifts up, allowing liquid to flow back in and then is once more exposed to light. This process is repeated till the 3D Model is complete.
The main differentiating factor between DLP and SLA is the speed of the machines. The DLP machines are quicker that the SLA machines and can make much more intricate parts. Due to these reasons, the technology has a wide acceptance in the jewellery industry wherein multiple designs can be quickly products in small quantities and can then be moved forward for the casting processes.
Available Materials
Standard Resin :
High-detail resin that produces parts with a smooth, injection mold-like surface finish. It is brittle and used for non-functional parts.
Clear Resin :
Has a semi-transparent appearance
Tough Resin :
Has properties of ABS and produces parts with improved mechanical properties compared to standard resin. Can be used for functional parts.
Castable Resin :
High-detail resin used to produce patterns for investment casting. They burn out cleanly with no ash or residue.

That’s a scale model we 3D Printed for UBER
Working with VNV Printlab, we 3D Printed a 1:70 Scale Model of Delhi’s Metro Station for UBER.
Presented to the government and the press by UBER CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, the model sought to build awareness about the project.
Coupled with overlay motion graphics using Augmented Reality, the model became alive and interactive for the audience
